In realizing his dream of owning his own security company; Freddie van Wyk (C.F. van Wyk – owner/director) registered Veranu Security in June 2006 when he bought over the existing Spoor Security. From the start, family values were a cornerstone of this new venture; not only treating the business as he does his children but also his clients as his family. From there the name VERANU derived from his daughter’s name VERUSCKA and his son’s name KEANU. Drawing from his 16 years of Police experience, Freddie envisioned building a trusted brand in the security and private investigation environment, growing by constantly delivering honest, reliable and personal service. This has proven to be the recipe for success. The vast experience within the company includes Administration and Human Resource Manager with over 15 years’ experience, five Area Managers, seven Area Supervisors and more than 350 staff count – all guards being PSIRA graded. Investigators draw from a cumulative 50 years + experience in different Police roles including Murder & Robbery, Vehicle Theft Units, Intelligence Gathering, National Organized Crime and Cross Border Operations. Experience of investigation in the insurance environment is also included. Experienced LVA (Layered Voice Analysis) and Polygraph operators as well as a CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) in good standing completes the team.
